When it comes to lasers and many things like them, there was a time when users were pretty few and far between. Only a few years ago, the subject of lasers brought to mind things like scientists and others of their ilk who did research or performed experiments in labs with lasers to accomplish all kinds of things. It’s little wonder since the applications for lasers were limited. Not anymore.
Today, the call for lasers is widespread, including everything from aerospace manufacturing to hobbyists. For this reason, laser users can look like just about anybody and everybody.
Plenty of Thanks to Go Around
It’s those scientists in labs as well as manufacturers who are responsible for what lasers have become. For a wide variety of reasons, including simplifying use as well as lowering of costs, have both led to nearly anyone being able to use lasers.
It’s hard to walk through a carnival or any other attraction anymore without being able to see someone using a laser to do something, including etching a glass vase or canister. Then there’s cutting, which has numerous nonindustrial applications. All it takes is a glance through a Boss laser review to see the current and future uses for lasers are practically unlimited.
Nothing Else Like It
Only a few years ago, there was no way that anyone could have predicted the extent to which the use of lasers has expanded today. In fact, only a few years ago, lasers were the domain of science fiction programming like so much of technology. Lasers have followed much the same path.
The most exciting part of all this is where what is happening in lasers today is where it is leading us for tomorrow. Indeed, in the field of lasers, the future is already happening.
Science Fairs
Want to know that latest in what is happening in lasers? You would probably be best advised to talk not to an engineer or a scientist but to a school kid. This is really where the latest in laser engineering is happening. In fact, for simplicity and ease of use, there are probably no better users than the youngest of them.
At recent science fairs in schools across the country, children were showing off their imaginations as well as their technical acumen for lasers. These applications showed that there is no lack of imagination when it comes to lasers. Among their creations was a laser tag game as well as a laser guitar, and those are only a start.
Warming Up the Future
Where will all this take us? It’s hard to tell, of course, but for all the advances that have been made just in the past few years, it’s hard to imagine that there aren’t great things on the horizon for lasers. All that needs to be done is to expand the applications and limit the mental bonds that hold anyone who wants to see what the future holds. Whatever that future holds, it’s easy to imagine lasers will be there to greet us.
